I’m currently back in school for an MBA, though my ultimate goal is to change careers into something data-related. Unlike you, however, I have no background in math (degrees in philosophy), so I find the technical aspects of data science to be extremely challenging. I’ve decided to settle on having a conceptual, rather than technical, understanding of most of the major topics. It’s been about two years since I quit my university teaching job to pursue this and I have the feeling a two-year MBA program is not enough time to develop these skills sufficiently. I’m currently considering joining our Ph.D program to do something like computational humanities. Your story is inspiring.
